Winter season service.

Review of Comfort Matters

Was called that service could be fine earlier then scheduled and the technician was able to do the inspection and repairs while I was out that was great. Found early indication of a future problem and promptly respired it. Finally technician communicated several times with me to keep me informed. I thought service was great.

Amazing company offering stellar service!

Review of Comfort Matters

Every experience with this company is stellar! Everybody, at all points of contact, is highly focused on providing top notch customer service. Today, we had an old heat pump system removed and a new furnace and separate air conditioner installed. Nick, and his assistant Connor, were as always, professional, knowledgeable, proficient, neat and personable. Nick has been our annual tuneup technician in the past, but has obviously increased his training and skill level, as demonstrated by his expert installation and follow up instructions on our new systems. We are BEYOND satisfied with Comfort Matters, with their team of talented employees, and Nick is a prime example!!!

Awesome customer service, all down the line!!!

Review of Comfort Matters

From the office personnel, to the service technicians, to the service itself, a stellar experience! We received pictures and bios of the technicians who were scheduled to arrive at our house as introductions, which I love! Jordan was a miracle worker, who responded immediately with a rapid remedy, when our AC went out. Then we were lucky enough to have him return to do our winter furnace assessment. He is personable, knowledgeable, detail oriented, and informative.Tony, who delivered and installed a part that Jordan had identified as potentially problematic for the AC, was also very knowledgeable, and tolerant as well, allowing us to closely observe his work, while patiently explaining every step of the way, as we plagued him with questions. We are delighted with our experiences with Comfort Matters, and that has kept us as satisfied customers for many years!

Super service; delightful interaction!

Review of Comfort Matters

Our AC failed during this crazy record breaking heat wave. Comfort Matters responded immediately to get us up and running, but in the process identified an additional compromised part, for which we had to wait a few days, which got extended by some unavoidable issues/emergencies. Through it all, the main office was continuously in contact with timely updates by phone; we were given “introductions” to each scheduled technician, with photo and bio, by text, for ready identification of authorized arrivals; and were helpfully shown what/why/how the repairs were accomplished. We were beyond pleased by Comfort Matters’ support, service, and all interactions!!! Many thanks to the multiple office personnel, who maintained contact, and to Jordan, who initially got us cooling again, and Anthony who completed the repairs and obligingly put up with our inquisitive hovering, providing in-depth explanations. Kudos to Comfort Matters on assembling a GREAT team!!!

Furnace precision tune up. Pulled and cleaned burners. Inspected heat exchanger for any visual defects, did not find any at this time. Tested ignition assembly components, including flame safety, for proper tolerance ranges. Cleaned out condensate trap. Checked all remaining electrical inside of the unit, measured motor amp draws for correct operating range. Inspected blower wheel for dirt and debris. Checked airflow for proper air movement. Measured combustion and gas pressure for safe levels. Ensured temperatures were within manufacture desired performance. System is heating and operating with no issues at this time. Upon arrival, it was found that the customers EAC filter was broken. The filter and metal grate was sucked into the blower wheel. A temporary filter was put in place until the unit is replaced. A follow up will be needed to replace the unit.

Found the furnace to be constantly tripping on a safety limit that detects a high temperature. Took my duct pressure and it was well above normal range. To correct this issue we would need to fix the return side of the duct work. Also note that the furnace is 7 years old and things could break down due to this issue. Will be following up on all repairs and Jacob w will be meeting with you on Monday Jan. 17 to go over furnace and ductwork replacement.

Performed a leak search on system and pressurized with nitrogen to find a leak on the TXV. Sealed leak and tested for any other leaks. No other leaks detected. Pulled vacuum on system to remove moisture and contaminants from system. Added factory charge of 7lbs 4oz of R410 and installed locking caps on heat pump. Tested operation. Everything working at this time but due to age and condition of system replacement is recommended.

Unit off upon arrival. Turned up heat to test operation. Burners would not stay lit. Diagnosed a failed flame safety. Installed a new one and didn’t have furthur issues. System is now up and running. Due to age and condition of equipment, replacement is highly recommended. Would also recommend using a non pleated filter going forward, it makes equipment operate better.

UPSTAIRS NOT HEATING. FOUND BOILER TO BE LOWER THAN NORMAL ON PRESSURE. PURGED BOTH UP AND DOWNSTAIRS LOOPS. GOT SOME AIR OUT OF BOTH LOOPS. FILLED BOILER UP TO PRESSURE AND CALLED FOR BOTH STATS TO HEAT AND THEN EACH INDIVIDUAL STAT ON ITS OWN. BOILER HEATING AS IT SHOULD. INSTRUCTED CUSTOMER TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE PRESSURE THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS THERE MAY BE A LITTLE AIR THAT BLEEDS OUT STILL. ALSO INSTRUCTED HOW TO OPEN AUTO FILL AND FILL BOILER SHOULD THE PRESSURE DROP SLIGHTLY. AUTO FILL SET AT 15psi.

Boiler precision tune up; clean and tune up boiler; check/verify water pressure, inspect and clean burners, test ignition components, test/adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check motors and pumps, checked all electrical components, checked heating temperatures, test combustion, and tested overall boiler operation. Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Removed and replaced the main flame safety, and tested with a new one. I also injected a water treatment into the in-floor heat to help protect from corrosion or water scaling inside of the pipes.

Furnace was not operating upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found that the thermostat was tripping the low voltage fuse in the furnace. I temporarily installed our thermostat and found that the system was up and working properly with that. Customer declined replacement of the thermostat, however I did install a whole system surge protector on the furnace. I found on the boiler that the fuse was also blowing. I ended up find that the exhaust motor had failed and therefore every time the motor would start up it would blow the fuse. I replaced the exhaust motor with a brand new one and replaced the fuse. After making this repair I tested the overall operation of the system and found that everything is now up and operating properly.

Boiler was not operating upon arrival. Upon starting my diagnostics I started tested voltages. When I went to test the high limit switch the unit turned on right away. I do believe that the limit switch has been tripped and when I touched it, it reset itself. Boiler precision tune up; clean and tune up boiler; check/verify water pressure, inspect and clean burners, test ignition components, test/adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check motors and pumps, checked all electrical components, checked heating temperatures, test combustion, and tested overall boiler operation. During the tuneup I found that the carbon monoxide levels have been elevated much higher then where we would recommend. I do believe this is due to the heat exchanger starting to soot up. Regardless this is a very dangerous situation and I do not recommend running the boiler. Home advisor will be reaching out tomorrow to follow up with a price to replace the system.

Performed Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Replaced failing motor starter to prevent damages to blower motor itself. Would recommend having fan cleaning done when all renovations in home re complete. All components are testing well otherwise at this time.

Arrived and furnace was flashing 88 error code. Found out per technical support the “88” is a start up initializing code and should go away. They informed me if it does not go away, control board is faulty. Ordered new control board and will return at later date to replace defective part.

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Customer noted that the boiler would sometimes not shut off. I began my diagnostics while the boiler was running even without a call for heat. I spoke with the manufacture and found that one of the zone valves is sticking and triggering the end switch to keep the boiler running. I was unable to pinpoint exactly which switch this was due to the boiler not being able to replicate this issue again. I do recommend replacing both zone valves to ensure operation and prevent this issue from arising again.

Furnace was not operating upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found that the plug in transformer going to the Arzel zone board was not providing power to the control board. I reset the gfci outlet and the system started up right away. After speaking with the manufacture I found that these transformers can trip gfci outlets. I highly suggest moving this transformer to a new outlet to avoid any further issues. Replaced the main flame safety due to the old one testing out of the manufacture range. After replacing this component I tested the whole system and found that everything is up and working properly as of now.

In floor heat was not working upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found that the water heater was not igniting although the system was trying to. I ended up finding that the gas valve is not opening up when signaled too. In order to get the in floor heat back up and working we would have to replace the gas valve and then proceed to test the system from there.
