Review of Comfort Matters

Very courteous respectful they took their time and they got it done I was very happy; I work in the service industry also and to say above average is wonderful and really what every company should strive for excellence is going above and beyond like 30 below and coming out and fixing a furnace in the middle of the night that’s excellent so those two as a team did great

Mixed Bag

Review of Comfort Matters

Daniel Larsen was very professional. Besides the furnace tube up, he made sure my co2 detector was current. He also answered a question I had with my ac. As far as price, the furnace tune up was covered under the service plan we purchased from Comfort Matters. As for convenience, Comfort Matters keeps calling the wrong number to notify me when the techs are on the way to my house, so I’m not aware of when they are coming. My husband has call me from work, because they call him instead of me.

Amazing

Review of Comfort Matters

Taylor and Keith did an amazing job! As a former home builder, I've worked with quite a few HVAC companies. I was very impressed with the knowledge and expertise of the crew from Comfort Matters!

Excellent service (again) from Comfort Matters!

Review of Comfort Matters

We had a scheduled tune up with Comfort Matters. Cody, our technician, communicated with me in advance to let me know he was on his way. He was friendly, professional and took the time to explain his follow up report. I appreciated that he wore something over his shoes (not that it bothered me but it was a nice touch) and was friendly to my dog. I’ll schedule again with Comfort Matters!

Cody vary polite

Perfomed annual AC precision tune up. Clean and tune up AC; cleaned condenser coil, checked all outdoor electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked refrigerant levels, and tested overall AC operation. Customer explained pet had chewed through low voltage ac wires. Wires were chewed to bare wire, so I cut out chewed section and replaced with new wiring. Secured all connections and wrapped location with electrical tape. Ac operating normal at this time.

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Found multiple issues wrong with the furnace, first found the main ignition system starting to fail. This will impact the operation of the furnace, also found the blower motor starter stating to fail as well, once this is starting to fail it will put extra and unwanted stress on the blower motor. Lastly found the blower wheel was dirty, this will impact airflow, efficiency and put extra unwanted stress on the furnace. All recommendations declined at this time. Due to age and condition of the furnace would consider replacement.

Performed Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Noticed a lot of corrosion on gas valve. This was due to fresh air intake pipe not having drain kit installed. Installed drain kit to prevent any further water damage to gas valve. Replaced main flame saftey under parts warranty. New part testing well with no concern. Blower fan beginning to accumulate build up. This can reduce efficient of furnace and ac. Found large ball of hair on fan. Removed hair from fan, however did not pull and clean blower wheel. Furnace operating normally at this time. Customer enrolled in annual sunshine club today.

Furnace not doing anything upon arrival. All operation of furnace worked normally with upper door off. When door was put back on furnace, got a pressure switch code. Pressure switches get correct amount of pressure. All hose are clean. Found outside intake plugged completely with snow. Cut existing pvc elbow out, cleaned all snow out, installed new elbow. It is now serviceable in case a lot of snow and wind happen again. System replacement is encouraged. Also recommend a non pleated filter for better airflow.

Return visit to inspect fresh air intake vent. The vent in question was a insulated flex duct that ran from the top of the return duct, then straight outside. The intake did have a flapper on it which was causing the vent to remain closed all the time. I highly recommend removing the flapper and installing a wire mesh screen. All repairs declined at this time.

Found furnace would go through entire cycle of operation but fail to ignite. Checked pressure coming from vent motor and was pulling 1.42 then took a reading on the collector box and was only pulling .01 and was not enough pressure to cause the switch to close. Pulled the tub and found an obstruction inside the port. Cleaned port and retested furnace. Furnace then was tripping on limit, so I performed a Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. and the furnace was working but still had very high static pressure. Moving forward Jake will come out to do a duct work assessment and would also have to clean the cooling coil. All other recommendations declined at this time.

Arrived and unit was not operating. Error code 55 preset stating high fire pressure switch closed. Inducer motor not running. Pressure switch is failed. Replaced with universal part and furnace fired up. Performed a Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Found water backed up in condensate trap. This water may have backed to pressure switch and caused failure. No further concerns with furnace at this time. Enrolled customer on yearly membership.

Arrived and customer explained zone system wasn’t operating properly. Thermostat was giving error code of “ missing device detected”. Found that zine panel was not operating. No lights on control board. Tested incoming power to zone panel and had power. Checked fuse on zone board. I was reading 0.00 on fuse. Removed fuse and found fuse was defective. Very possible fuse got bumped when ducts were getting cleaned. Put in new fuse. Cycled power and zone control came back online. I had to reconfigure system at thermostat. All systems came back online. All thermostats were active and zone dampers were operating normally. Billed todays visit to Andy at DUCTZ.

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Combustion air vent hood had a cap on it that was not allowing air to get into the home. Discussed with customer about the safety issues related to this. Recommended taking the cap off and replacing it with a mesh screen. Customer decided to do it themselves. Filter was also dirty and recommended replacement. The furnace did not have a surge protector and recommended one. All recommendations were declined at this time.

Furnace precision tune up. Pulled and cleaned burners. Inspected heat exchanger for any visual defects, did not find any at this time. Tested ignition assembly components, including flame safety, for proper tolerance ranges. Cleaned out condensate trap. Checked all remaining electrical inside of the unit, measured motor amp draws for correct operating range. Inspected blower wheel for dirt and debris. Checked airflow for proper air movement. Measured combustion and gas pressure for safe levels. Ensured temperatures were within manufacture desired performance. System is heating and operating with no issues at this time. The main flame safety sensor was replaced under a parts warranty. The customer paid half down ($650) for a duct cleaning and blower wheel cleaning. A follow up will be needed next Monday (01/31/2022) to schedule this.

Went through overall furnace operation, diagnosed a failed flame safety. Replaced part and didn’t have furthur issues with furnace. Also found that the blower starter is failing. Installed a brand new one. Lastly installed new filter. Non pleated filter is recommended for better duct pressure for system. System is surpassing its life span, replacement is highly encouraged. Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation.

Found furnace to be functioning correctly when arrived. Went through basic tests and found the flame safety device to be out of range, pulled and cleaned and still tested low replaced and retested. Also found the furnace filter to be dirty, with high activity inside the home I would encourage to have that replaced three months at a time. Lastly the thermostat had the constant fan on, this allows the furnace fan to be constantly running. No further attention is needed at this time.

Roomed to no heat call from customer stating no air was coming from vents, however there was heat at the vents. On arrival, found filter box was whistling. Customer had replaced filter a couple weeks ago. Pulled filter out and fan was running. There was a layer of white dust not easily seen to the eye on filter. Customer does use space humidifer. The humidifier will plug up filter much quicker than normal. Replaced filter and then performed Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Blower fan is dirty and should be cleaned. This will increase airflow and efficiency of system. Customer also explained orange flames in gas appliances. Did not find anything unusual with furnace tune up. This may be an issue with incoming gas or something in the air at

Make up air system was off upon arrival. Rob stated that his employees said the blower motor needs a new bearing. I then reconnected the belts and turned the system on and found that everything is up and working just fine as of now, however the unit is pretty noise although I do not know what it sounded like before. I will follow up with Rob tomorrow when our supply houses are open.

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Homeowner complained about the outdoor unit fan running intermittently, went over with her that the fan will do that to cool itself down. The unit is equipped with higher efficiency motor starters and they need to be cooled. So the outdoor unit will run intermittently year round. All recommendations declined at this time.
