Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Would recommend a blower wheel cleaning and air exchanger tune up. System replacement may be in future due to age and condition. Customer would like to hold off on repairs at this time.

Found the humidifier not functioning correctly, tested to make sure the humidifier water valve was functioning properly and it did. Then tested the controller and after talking with tech support they said it was a failed controller due to not making a connection when testing continuity. Talked over about replacement and homeowner wants to replace.

Furnace precision tune up. Pulled and cleaned burners. Inspected heat exchanger for any visual defects, did not find any at this time. Tested ignition assembly components, including flame safety, for proper tolerance ranges. Cleaned out condensate trap. Checked all remaining electrical inside of the unit, measured motor amp draws for correct operating range. Inspected blower wheel for dirt and debris. Checked airflow for proper air movement. Measured combustion and gas pressure for safe levels. Ensured temperatures were within manufacture desired performance. System is heating and operating with no issues at this time.

Furnace was operating upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found water all within the lower cabinet of the furnace. I then discovered that there was water dripping from the condensate trap, I then made sure that none of the drain lines were leaking and verified that none of them were clogged up. I do believe that the condensate trap is cracked on the backside and therefore causing the water to spill out. At his time all supply houses are closed, I will call and track down parts and availability tomorrow morning and follow up with a price.

Rooftop unit was operating upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found that the system would trip on a high limit error. I then adjusted the gas pressure down to where the manufacture would recommend. I then also cleaned the fresh air filter off. After these two adjustments I ran the unit and the furnace ran for 30 minutes with no further problems. If problem persists call us back and try to take note of anything the thermostat is doing or if anything else is noticeable.

Repair. Warranty call. Arrived to find that the furnace is dry from the last time Taylor was here. I verified with Toms son that the isn’t a reason to warranty the issue and that we did what the manufacture recommend for us. Also replaced cork pads that got damp and recked from when pan was dripping. Tom should be aware to keep and eye out for water incase it decided to leak in the near future.

Rooftop unison the liquor store was not operating upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found that the pressure safety switch was not closing when it should be. I tested everything out and everything but the safety switch was working properly. I replaced the pressure switch and tested operation As of now everything is up and working properly.

During the furnace inspection it was identified that the burners were all heavily corroded for a newer furnace. The furnace burners were replaced under warranty with stainless steel burners. Combustion and temperature levels were re-checked after installation and the operation of the furnace was also tested. There are no further issues at this time.

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Upon arrival homeowner complained about a buzzing noise coming from furnace when fan would be running. When inspecting the furnace I pinpointed the location of the noise. It was on the left hand side of the furnace close to the bottom. Found the tape to have gotten dirty and separated from the furnace causing the high pitch buzzing noise. Replaced tape and tested operation of furnace afterwards to find no buzzing noise. No further attention is required at this time.

Annual Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Blower fan is very dirty and needs to be cleaned. This restricts airflow through system and can causing internal issues with heat exchanger. This component is very rusted and is more prone to fail. I did not see any visual defects in heat exchanger today. Exhaust motor is over amping and is pulling more power then is rated for. This could be an internal motor failure and motor failure is near. I would highly encourage replacement of furnace due to the age, condition, and cost of repairs. Replaced furnace filter today as well due to high duct pressure. Found 2 manual dampers at furnace to adjust flow of air.

The blower motor booster was replaced but the recommendation to clean the blower wheel was declined at this time.

Annual Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Initial duct pressure tests showed that filter was competely plugged, and there was little to no airflow going through furnace. Visually inspected heat exchanger to ensure no damage was done. Did not find any visual defects, however heat exchanger is very burnt and rusted. This will increase chances of heat exchanger failure. That would lead to furnace shutdown. Exhaust motor makes hard grinding sound at start of unit, and is over amping. Recommend replacement of motor to prevent motor failure and uncomfortable situations in home. Blower motor shaft clicks when moved. This means bearings internal to motor are failing and motor is likely to fail. Blower fan is also very dirty, which also may lead to

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace, clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor airflow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace function. Found heavy rust build up around the front plate of heat burner box, this could lead to a potential hole or crack, also noticed heat marks and rust build up on the heat exchanger. Found heavy rust build up on the right side of the upper compartment of the furnace, this could lead to a hole and could interfere with combustion on the furnace. Also noticed the blower wheel to be dirty, and the filter was plugged and was high duct pressure. All recommendations declined at this time. With the age and condition of system replacement is encouraged.

Furnace was not operating upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found that the system was tripping on high limit. What this means is that the furnace was getting too hot and then would shut down. I then found that the filter was completely plugged up and therefore not allowing any air to flow through the furnace. I replaced the filter with one from my truck and then tested operation and found that everything is up and working as of now. Overall with my tests and diagnostics I would recommend replacing the blower motor due to the motor booster testing out of range and the stress that was put on the motor. I also found that the exhaust motor makes a screeching like noise when starting up, usually this means that the bearings inside are starting to fail. Overall I would highly recommend replacing the entire system due to age and my findings tonight.
