This was my first appointment with Comfort Matters. Wes got us up and running and he will be back with parts and get the system running properly.

Breaker tripped upon arrival. Checked all high voltage wiring connections before cycling power. Tested resistance to ground on each leg of compressor. Was over 15 ohms on each leg to ground. Internal components are failing. Just a matter of time until unit trips breaker again. System is cooling at this time. Unsure of how long it will last though. Both motor starters are burnt as well. System is at the end of its life. Replacement is recommended. Jacob will come out next week Thursday at 8am for a estimate.

Furnace was not operating upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found that the ignition system was not operating. I removed and replaced the main flame safety and the igniter. Once the repairs were completed I tested the system again and found that everything is up and working properly as of now. I did notice that the blower motor booster was testing out of the manufacture range and the motor itself had oil all over it. I highly recommend replacing the blower motor to avoid any further issues or high costing repairs.

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Found the main ignition system testing out of range this could impact the operation of the furnace, also found the main flame safety device testing out of range this will also impact the operation of the furnace. Lastly I visually checked the heat exchanger for any cracks or fractures and couldn’t find any at this time but found major rust, this rust could lead towards failure on the heat exchanger. Lastly with age of the furnace repairing would not be beneficial to the homeowner and replacement would be encouraged. All recommendations declined at this time.

Performed precision furnace tuneup. Checked igniter, flame sensor, burners, cleaned out water drain trap, took all amp draws, and then a full combustion analysis. Everything seems to be working at this time.

Performed Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Replaced furnace filter per sunshine club membership. Also performed Air Exchanger cleaning and tune up. Remove filters and core to vacuum. Also clean cabinet interior. Inspect bearings on blower assembly. Install core and filters. Clean off outside hoods. Test operation of air exchanger. Flame safety in furnace is testing below manufacture specifications. This will cause furnace to not operate if fails. Recommend replacement of part. Repair was declined today. Furnace is operating normal at this time.

Peformed fall preventative maintenance on all residential heating units. Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Furnace number 2 wasp non operational at arrival. Found that inducer motor had seized. Upon further inspection, there were 5 or more birds lodged in exhaust. Removed birds and replaced inducer motor under parts only warranty. Tested operation of furnace and all is now operating normally. I installed vent protection screens on furnace 1 and 2 exhaust and intake of both furnaces. Both units behind kitchen, the ruuds, are in need of blower fan cleanings. I will attached a quote for this. Furnace 11 in the attic also requires blower wheel cleaning. The quote for all 3 cleanings is attached.

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace, clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor airflow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace function. Upon inspection found that both motor boosters are out of manufacturing range. Once out of manufacturing range it will start to do damage to the system. Also found upon inspection, that there was heavy rust and corrosion on the burners, tried to clean as best as possible but was still heavily rusted. Due to age and condition of system, replacement is recommended. Jacob w will be meeting with you on Nov. 1st at 5pm to go over system replacement.

AC precision tune up. Clean and tune up AC; cleaned condenser coil, checked all outdoor electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked refrigerant levels, and tested overall AC operation. Installed a new drain pan treatment pad to help clean the indoor cooling unit and help for better drainage, replaced air filter and also performed a Air Exchanger and tune up. Remove filters and core to vacuum. Also clean cabinet interior. Inspect bearings on blower assembly. Install core and filters. Clean off outside hoods. Test operation of air exchanger. All other recommendations are declined at this time.

Arrived to find AC running tested cooling capacity AC is cooling as it should. issue believe to be load control switch shutting down the AC. Compressor does not sound to be in good shape hey see your new could be added to give it its best chance at not breaking down.

Found AC motor booster failed. Due to AC trying to run still with that motor-booster failed compressor was extremely hot and Had tripped on its internal overload safety. After cooling compressor and replacing booster AC fired up investigated the rest of the system found AC to be low on refrigerant. Added 3 pounds of 410A, UV leak sealant and locking caps to help prevent the service valves from being a leak source. Due to other issues apparent with the system including the compressor sounding like it’s starting to break down whole system should be considered for replacement. Chris. Will be out August 9 to go over replacement options.
