Gave three options to improve hot water capacity. Best option is the most capacity and piped to optimize both tanks. Middle option is two 50 gallon water heaters. Last option is a single 75 gallon water heater.

Arrived and furnace was on but not running. Checked for call for heat from thermostat and was not getting call for heat. Ran diagnostics on thermostat. Bypassed thermostat and system fired normally. Re connected thermostat to verify and found thermostat is failed. It is not sending signal for call for heat. Recommend replacement thermostat at this point. Customer opted to replace thermostat on their own. Unable to run diagnostics due to furnace not operating.

Came out for a reinspection of failed part that could not be completed on Saturday. Found a plugged hose fitting that wouldn’t left draft by to complete ignition. Fixed and system started up. Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation.

Furnace was not pulling enough draft for pressure switch to satisfy and was also making a small grinding noise. Picked up new inducer and installed. Draft was just shy of what’s required. Tried both offices and extra seal to try to bring the draft up. Cleared all lines and drain lines with no avail. Coming back first thing Monday morning to talk to tech-support and figure out this issue. Customers was left heaters.

Performed annual Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. During evaluation of furnace, found filter was very dirty. Replaced furnace air filter. Blower assembly very concerning today. Motor sounds very hard on startup and fan is dirty passed the point of cleaning. There is a lot of rust and corrosion on fan. Cleaning this off would be very difficult. To have fan assembly up and running full capacity, I recommend new blower motor, and a new blower fan. Exhaust motor is pulling more power than it is rated for. This is a sign of possible internal failure of exhaust motor. Due to be and condition of system, replacement is highly encouraged.

Verified the humidifier worked. Humidifier has outdoor sensor and will allow less humidity into the home as the temp outside goes down

Boiler precision tune up; clean and tune up boiler; check/verify water pressure, inspect and clean burners, test ignition components, test/adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check motors and pumps, checked all electrical components, checked heating temperatures, test combustion, and tested overall boiler operation. Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Humidifier precision tune up and cleaning. Remove current water pad, clean off pad housing and water distributor. Clean out humidifier box. Clear out drain line. Replace with new water pad. Test operation Humidifier solenoid is stuck open and constantly leaking, I also found that the shut off valve for the incoming water to the humidifier is also stuck open, I highly recommend replacing the

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Found restriction in airflow on the return side adding an additional return duct work and opening up the return drop will decrease the restriction and allow more air flow to the furnace. Lastly found heat marks on the heat exchanger where they normally fail. With that in mind would start to consider replacement options. All recommendations declined at this time.

Furnace did not have a call for heat at control board. All thermostats are communicating correctly to zone panel. Found voltage across fuse on plenum heater. Fuse had failed. Installed a new fuse, then fuse on furnace failed. When heat pump is disconnected from plenum heater, furnace heats, when connected fuse fails. There is bigger issues in regards to heat pump. Was not getting proper voltage to it. Will need to come back on a later date to take another look at heat pump. For now, heat pump is bypassed and furnace is heating. System replacement is highly encouraged due to age and overall condition. Chris is coming out Monday to do a furnace estimate.

Performed precision furnace tuneup. Checked igniter, flame sensor, burners, cleaned out water drain trap, took all amp draws, and then a full combustion analysis. Everything seems to be working at this time.

Replace furnace with 98% AFUE Modulating Variable-Speed Furnace. Terms: 50% down, balance due at completion of installation OR Approved Financing

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Humidifier precision tune up and cleaning. Remove current water pad, clean off pad housing and water distributor. Clean out humidifier box. Clear out drain line. Replace with new water pad. Found multiple issues with furnace, the blower wheel and blower motor were dirty this will cause stress on the system. Also the blower motor had oil on it, this is caused by a failing seal on the motor. Also found the vent motor failing, this will cause the furnace not to operate at all. Lastly the ignition system was testing out of range. All recommendations declined at this time. Would encourage to have someone come out and give you a proper quote on system replacement.

Furnace was operating upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found that the lower heat exchanger was leaking water. I then removed the blower motor so I could view the heat exchanger. I then found that the far right cell had rusted through and was leaking all of the water out. Furnace has been red tagged due to it blow being a safety hazard for the occupants of the house. Home advisor visit is scheduled for 2-11-2022 between 4-6 with Jacob W.

Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. Removed and cleaned the blower motor fan blades. Once the fan blades were all cleaned and reinstalled I tested operation and found that everything is up and working just fine. Added in vent protection to help keep birds or other rodents from entering the exhaust vent.

Performed Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. All components operating normally at this time. Replaced furnace air filter. Previous filter was plugged and causing high duct pressure.

Furnace precision tune up. Pulled and cleaned burners. Inspected heat exchanger for any visual defects, did not find any at this time. Tested ignition assembly components, including flame safety, for proper tolerance ranges. Cleaned out condensate trap. Checked all remaining electrical inside of the unit, measured motor amp draws for correct operating range. Inspected blower wheel for dirt and debris. Checked airflow for proper air movement. Measured combustion and gas pressure for safe levels. Ensured temperatures were within manufacture desired performance. System is heating and operating with no issues at this time.
